Privacy policy

whosewave (whosewave.com) is operated by Croko, a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea. This page explains what the site collects, what it deliberately does not, and who else is involved.

1. Your video files are never collected

This comes first because it is a property of how the tool is built, not a promise about how it is run.

The videos in the folder you choose are never sent to a server. The browser reads them directly from your computer through the File System Access API, draws them on screen, and creates the folders on your computer. Croko never receives and never stores your video files, their file names, or the path of the folder you picked.

The plain consequence of that design: sorting and organizing keep working with your internet connection switched off.

2. What is stored on your own computer

So that you can close the window mid-way and pick up where you left off, the following is kept in your browser's local storage:

• the names you typed in
• a record of which person you assigned to which file
• the clip you were last looking at

This stays on your device and is not transmitted to any server. It is deleted automatically once organizing finishes, and before that you can clear it at any time through your browser's "clear browsing data / site data" function.

3. What is collected automatically

Simply loading the site can generate the following.

Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies and does not identify individual visitors or track them across other sites.

Steps are recorded only by briefly changing the address, as in /s-picked-30-99. No folder name, no file name and none of the names you type are ever sent. The number of videos is recorded as a range, never as an exact count.

4. Advertising and cookies

The site does not show ads. The Google AdSense integration that was previously used has been removed, and no advertising cookies or advertising identifiers are collected.

Cloudflare Web Analytics, which the site does use, sets no cookies. Blocking cookies in your browser settings does not affect sorting or organizing. The tool works either way.

If advertising is introduced later, this page will say so before it takes effect.

5. Why this data is processed

• delivering the website and keeping it available
• preventing abuse and abnormal access
• understanding visit statistics in order to improve the site

If you are in the EEA or the UK: delivery, security and non-cookie visit statistics rest on Croko's legitimate interest in operating a working, secure site. No advertising and no advertising cookies are involved, so no consent is asked for. The data is not used for any other purpose, and if that ever changes you will be told before it happens.

6. How long it is kept

• Video files and your sorting — not held by Croko at all.
• Local storage record — deleted automatically when organizing completes; you can delete it yourself at any time.
• Access logs — retained by Cloudflare under Cloudflare's own retention policy and used for nothing beyond serving and securing the site.

7. Who else is involved

Croko does not sell your personal data and does not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. The following providers are used to run the site, and each one's own privacy policy applies alongside this page.

The site is operated from the Republic of Korea, and these providers run servers in many countries. Data described on this page may therefore be processed outside your own country, including in the United States, under the transfer safeguards those providers publish.

8. Your rights

You can ask at any time to see, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data relating to you, and to object to it. Write to the address below and it will be dealt with without delay.

As stated above, Croko does not hold your video files or your sorting, so for that material the fastest and most certain route is to clear it in your own browser.

If you are in the EEA or the UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Korea, complaints can be brought to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr) or the Privacy Infringement Report Centre (privacy.kisa.or.kr).
